With the passage of HB 3650 (see Mental Health Association of Portland Posting) and SB 99, there are big changes coming to healthcare in Oregon. But there are a lot of details to be worked out – and Governor John Kitzhaber wants you to volunteer to help make those decisions. Plans will be delivered to lawmakers by February, 2012.

Work Groups: Oregon Health System Transformation – House Bill 3650
To help develop the plan for Coordinated Care Organizations, there will be four work groups, appointed by the Governor and chartered by the Oregon Health Policy Board to provide input and consultation to Oregon Health Authority staff between now and December 2011. The groups will be:
• Coordinated Care Organization (CCO) criteria
• Global Budget Methodology
• Outcomes, Quality and Efficiency Metrics
• Medicare-Medicaid Integration of Care and Services

Oregon Health Insurance Exchange Board Of Directors – SB 99
Senate Bill 99 created the Oregon Health Insurance Exchange Corporation as a public corporation overseen by a nine-member Board of Directors. Board members will be appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Oregon Senate. Members will serve staggered four-year terms.
The Health Insurance Exchange is an organized, transparent and competitive health insurance marketplace.
