Scholarship created in memory of Aris Bishop, who died at Vista Bridge

On January 22, Aris Bishop ended her life by jumping from Vista Bridge. Her mother, Faith Bishop, has established a scholarship in her daughter’s name. The scholarship will help a graduate of the Metropolitan Learning Center attend college. Aris Bishop was a student at MLC in Portland.

To donate to the Aris D. Bishop Scholarship (, click “Donate” on the green menu across the top of the page. Another screen will appear: click “Donate Now.” On the next page, select The Aris D. Bishop Memorial Scholarship from the dropdown menu.

Faith Bishop wants people to know that the scholarship will be awarded yearly, not just once, so donors can keep this on their list of charities and donate whenever convenient.

“This is very dear to my heart,” Faith Bishop says. “It means a lot to me to keep Aris’ name going, especially helping other children with education.”
