Portland Candidate Forum – 2024

The Mental Health Association of Portland held a CANDIDATE FORUM for Portland City Council candidates, including the race for mayor, on August 31 at The Old Church in the heart of downtown Portland. The subject of the Candidate Forum was mental illness and addiction.

The organization is nonpartisan and makes no endorsements. The organization will provide a private intensive briefing by subject matter experts in mid-November for all those elected in the Metro area on how the mental health and addiction system operates. This Forum is not supported by the City of Portland’s Votes 2024 Grant Program. The
Portland Peace Team will be in attendance.

The Mental Health Association of Portland Candidate Foru  m will have a live audience at The Old Church, be live-streamed on YouTube, and available to watch on YouTube afterward. The streaming link will be available on this site after August 27 (candidate filing deadline). District sessions will be 90 minutes each. The mayoral session will be 60 minutes.

All candidates are welcome to participate but MUST register before August 28. All candidates have been sent registration information via email. Over 55 candidates have registered to participate.
