The Mental Health Association of Oregon is an inclusive grassroots organization dedicated to empowering consumer / survivor voices to drive services and policies that foster wellness and full participation in the community.

The Icarus Project envisions a new culture and language that resonates with our actual experiences of extreme states of consciousness rather than trying to fit our lives into a conventional framework. We are a network of people living with the dangerous gifts that are commonly labeled as bipolar or related 'mental illness.'  The Portland Chapter of Icarus meets weekly, and recommended reading includes their Guide to Coming Off Psychiatric Drugs (PDF 2.3 MB).

We can't endorse treatment centers or care providers - programs and those who run them are too unstable to track.  These below are select because they are large, provide many services, and have competent leadership.
