Getting Questions Answered About What Happened to James Chasse
The Mental Health Association of Portland keeps an exacting advocacy mission. We help people with mental illness and addiction speak up and speak out in the community of Portland Oregon.
Each year we pick one advocacy task - just one - for our complete attention.
In 2004 we presented a lecture series in North Portland on how social services support people with mental illness.
In 2005 we told the story how remains of over 3000 patients at the Oregon State Hospital were kept in an abandoned building by hospital employees.
In 2006 we found the truth about what happened to James Chasse and we made sure no one will forget.
In 2007 we have created permanent web sites to remember people killed by police officers. Our purpose is to tell the truth and not forget.
